A winter sport with a long-standing tradition – ice stock shooting in Tyrol

Did you know? Ice stock shooting is an old Tyrolean tradition that is preferrable practiced on frozen lakes, special lanes and ponds. No wonder people love it so much – it’s tons of fun for the whole family!

Conical ice stocks are – as precisely as possible – shot across a smooth ice surface with the aim of hitting a small wooden target, the Daube. Two teams play against each other. Those who manage to get their ice stock closest to the Daube win.
